![]() ![]() Is it good that the growth is green (I dont want to say grass, its just wild growth whatever) or should it be brown like other spots that are mowed but not watered Some were big thistles, etcĪnyway, what is it. But the last couple years I am actually mowing it to keep it down, and they say thats better so bigger weeds dont root down. I will admit for a few years I let it just grow all summer and then just rough cut mowed it in the fall. The soil is not soggy at all, its the same it has been since we moved in. Not a lush green, but greener than say the surrounding area where no water hits. ![]() Plus if there is any rain of course, grass and weeds will grow Some say, if your field is green its failing, while others say, it has to be green, water is going to that area, and being whisked away in the soil up into the grass, like its supposed to. Oh well, way it goes, out of my controlĭoing some more digging, and of course one person says this and one says that, I want to see if I can get some straight answers. The previous owners used the field as pasture for their horses, and it says to not let animals on it since they can compact the soil, etc. I mean I walk on it occasional and mow it with a riding mower, and a quad goes over it occasional. I dont drive on the field, its literally in a field next to use, not our yard. But as they say a septic system with eventually fail (or so they say - fear mongering maybe) and if it does, its usally the leach field. We have been in the house for over 10 years, and have never had an issue. Maybe once a year is to much, but cost wise its $100, and with a family of five, Id rather know its done. Also add yearly a product called Shactivate to help with break down.Įvery year I get the guy that pumps out my septic to check the tank and he says its good. Done use laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent is the pods, have a food catcher for the kitchen sink, and hair catchers for all the showers. I pump out my septic annually, make sure things that arent supposed to go down there done. Each summer I switch from one leach field to the next with a built in diverter in my field. Its is a triple zone field, that I can use 2 zones at a time. As many of the members on here, I live out of the city, with my own septic and leach field. ![]()
